SHARE QUANG BINH TOURISM EXPERIENCE WITH FAMILY WITH SMALL CHILDREN

Quang Binh is very beautiful and a place worth going in Vietnam. On the occasion of the trip to Quang Binh with my family that has just ended, I take the time to review for parents who are preparing to travel, especially with small children with reference information. I see many reviews online for Quang Binh but mostly for adults. I want to share more with families with small children, so there will be a lot of information worth noting.

1. Going to Quang Binh can use all 3 means: plane, train, car.

However, after trying all 3 options (because my family goes to Quang Binh every summer), I give priority to the train option. My family has had a car and experience shows that cars are not safe at all. My family drove a Hien car and the car had an accident on the way to Hanoi. Driving at night should run very fast and carelessly (passing roundabouts not in accordance with regulations). I clearly remember everyone’s panicked screams in the night when another car was hit. Thank God it was a small truck so only scratched and flattened the front cover. After the car was stopped for 1 hour to deal with and the driver Duong Hien had to pay 10 million or something, the bitterness made the driver rush even more crazy. When I returned to Hanoi, I knew I was still alive. This incident happened in 2012, of course, accidents don’t happen often with cars, but who knows when it’s their car. Moreover, the night road is true that the cars go very fast, the road also has many vehicles => more dangerous. Since then, I have never taken a long-distance car. On the other hand, cars make small children unable to move, very uncomfortable. The advantage is that taking a car is cheaper, only 200K. Now I see people recommend going to Nam Giang or Hung Long. The plane has been tried, the advantage is that it is fast (about more than 1 hour to arrive) but Hanoi – Quang Binh aircraft, even those of Vietjet or VN airline, still often use small, old aircraft, so the vibration is a bit too much. with families with young children. The fare is more expensive than the train, but now you can find cheap tickets, so it’s the same. Before, I went more than 1 million / way. This year, my grandson will only lose 600k/way. I prefer the train. In terms of travel time, it takes quite a long time (9h) but the train to Quang Binh runs at a very suitable time, from 10pm the night before -7am the next morning. So in the afternoon, I still leisurely come home from work, have dinner, go to the station to sleep for 1 hour to arrive => Still very time-saving. If traveling by train, parents should buy a bed on the first floor so that their children can travel more easily and sleep safer. The only thing is that the bed on the train is small, so you have to lie in front of the baby to be able to sleep well until morning or not. Parents should buy a room with 4 beds instead of 6 beds. Bed 4 will help you sit upright on the 1st floor easily, but bed 6 has to bend your neck. Besides, I like to let my child take the train to experience, meet many strangers and give him a clearer sense of the journey. Sitting on a plane doesn’t just give you anything. The price of a sleeper bed on the Hanoi – Quang Binh train is about 500-700k / way depending on the time. Children like my baby 4T are free of charge.

2. At hotels in Quang Binh, there are many types from budget motels to 5-star hotels.

But I recommend staying at 2-star hotels, concentrated on Truong Phap street, opposite Nhat Le beach, prices range from 400k – 650k/room/night such as: Ngan Ha Hotel, Thanh Phuc Hotel, Hanoi Hotel – Sunrise Hotel, Ban Mai Hotel, Cong Doan Hotel (the beach in front of this Union Hotel is deep and safe for children), Vietnam – Laos Hostel. The hotel is relatively clean, suitable for bathing in Nhat Le beach. Parents and baby less need to move. This road also has many 4-5 star hotels if any family has higher needs. I have been at Muong Thanh 4 stars, the hotel is nice and clean, but the professionalism of the staff is not high. Our team had a call problem and found the staff slow and awkward. Or if you come and like to stay in Phong Nha, you can refer to Phong Nha Lake House, Phong Nha Farmstay, Chay Lap Farmstay… Cost from 900-1500k/night. I went to Lake House and found the space very beautiful, there is a large lake that is very pleasing to the eyes, quiet, they only have about a dozen single apartments overlooking the lake, so it is easy to run out of rooms in the high season. There’s plenty of romance there. The plus point is that there is also a swimming pool for children, so for young children it is paradise.

3. PLAY Quang Binh is a very beautiful place in Vietnam, with many places to visit.

If to explore Quang Binh relatively, the family should spend at least 3 days. However, not every place should let the baby go to the parents. My family’s annual schedule to explore Quang Binh is different, each time I draw experience, so I will summarize the places I went for my parents to imagine. Visiting and exploring caves and caves: Hang Son Doong is famous but not for children. Quang Binh will have the famous Thien Duong and Phong Nha Ke Bang caves that parents can let their children go with. After letting my baby go to both of these places, I advise my parents to let me go to Phong Nha. Thien Duong Cave must be said to be very beautiful, but Phong Nha is equally beautiful. Thien Duong had to walk very tired, climb uphill, so the baby could not feel anything and was already exhausted, the parents had to carry it too. Heaven ticket price is 250k / person, tram is about 300k. Phong Nha has 2 options: dry and wet or both. I recommend wet only. The way to Phong Nha goes on a boat (360K / boat can go for 8 people, if the group is cheap), the surrounding scenery is very beautiful, children will like it. The ticket for wet mobile is 180K, going to both is 250K. If the cave is wet, the boat is carried deep into the cave and then back out. The family just sat on the boat and watched the stalactites, enjoyed it but was not tired at all. Approaching the cave door, you will be able to go up to the cave to watch 1 more paragraph (like a dry cave, so 1 get 2), the baby only has to go a little bit to go out, just in time to watch, while ensuring enough health ( When I went out the door to see my child’s face getting tired, giving me an ice cream was enough to stop being tired). In general, beautiful, happy, healthy. On the way to Phong Nha, you should often stop by some nearby places: Mooc Stream, Chay Cave, Dark Cave, Chay Lap. Mooc Stream, Chay Cave, Dark Cave are all beautiful. I rate Suoi Mooc better. The road to Mooc Spring is very cool, with many trees, not afraid of the sun for children. Years ago, they even let their family go camping, grilling their own delicious food, but now they don’t allow it anymore. Coming here also makes children more interested in nature. This cannot be taught by books. But going to Suoi Mooc is also erratic depending on nature, if it doesn’t rain, the source water doesn’t pour much, guests will be able to use the whole stream with many beautiful passages, many games, calm water, children playable. But on the day the source water came in, people only allowed to use a part of the stream or didn’t use it at all. If used, children cannot play because the water is very fast and cold. The risky games in it are also not for the baby to play. Ticket price from 80 – 180K depending on the service you choose. Chay Cave Dark Cave has a game play of 450K/person. Chay Lap seems to be attracting customers, especially young people to check-in to take pictures, beautiful and peaceful scenery (children, I like quiet places), but Chay Lap has not been completed yet, the service has not been completed. nothing much. There is no ticket to enter Chay Lap, only fees for playing games and drinking coffee. Sea: Quang Binh has many seas, and every sea is beautiful. My family bathed in Nhat Le, Da Nhay, Bao Ninh, Nhan Trach, Hai Ninh. If you have a chance to go, you should go to all these beaches. Quang Binh beach has white sand, long beach, clear water. But each beach will have its own minus point: Jumping rock is very special because there are many natural rocks around the beach, but on days when the sea is a bit rough, it is dangerous for children because the waves are so white that you can’t see the rocks. easy to hit (I think so because I sent her to Da Leap on such a day and didn’t dare to let her bathe in the inner beach because it looked so scary). Nhan Trach Beach is pristine, unexploited, tourists rarely bathe here but only locals, but it’s very good because it feels like being alone in a private moment. The minus point of Nhan Trach is that it is close to the fishing village, ships going to the sea will buy fish right at the shore. Although it is quite far from the beach, I feel a bit shy. Nhat Le, Bao Ninh (Sun Spa resort exploits a part of this sea) beautiful sea, central beach is easy to travel but many tourists (although crowded but on too crowded days, it is not clean anymore :). Hai Ninh is also wild but now FLC has exploited it. There is another very good experience that tourists often don’t know to go to that is going to Nhan Trach market early in the morning so that children can watch the ships dock, buy seafood, see fishes and squids…Very good with children. The condition is that the night before, parents should let the baby go to bed early to wake up the next morning. In this fishing village, you can let your baby play on the sand dunes (only a few hundred meters away). There is a pretty fun sand slide game here, rent a 30K slide. If you don’t slide, your baby will also love playing in the sand (all children love this game). But note that you should go in a slightly cooler hour, parents (the sun steaming on the sand is much hotter). Visiting the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap: It would be very suitable for adults to go, but for children, I advise not to, unless they have attended secondary school or higher. About 60km from Dong Hoi to Uncle Giap’s grave, he was already tired from riding in the car. When I got there, I was even more tired because Giap’s grave was on a small hill, it was very sunny and there was nothing to cover. There, you can only hold flowers and put them in the grave and then leave (like Uncle Ho’s mausoleum), you can stand to take pictures for a while, but children don’t like to take pictures like that. Fortunately, Giap’s grave overlooks the beautiful Yen island. I took my son to that beach and picked up some snails, seaweed… for him to see (quite interesting). But that beach is very rocky, not sand, so it is not safe for children to go if parents do not hold hands or hold them constantly. In short, 3-10 year olds will be more tired than experiencing anything significant. Visiting graves is of course free. Evening walk to the beach, stroll the city center by tram, go to Nhat Le bridge, Bao Ninh square, drink coffee at Sun Spa or enjoy coffee from above (Hotel Amanda has a cafe on the upper floor) , eating snails, tea, singing is also fun. Every year, Quang Binh has a few new shops that are more beautiful and interesting, so I don’t review this one very carefully.

4. Eating in Quang Binh should eat porridge soup or Hue noodles for breakfast.

Porridge soup is made from wheat flour that is rolled and cooked with snakehead fish, shrimp, and crab. When eaten or eaten with ram (nem). Try shops like: Quan Son Thu – Phan Boi Chau street, Quan Suong Hong – Nguyen Huu Canh street…, a bowl costs from 15k – 20k, ram is only 2k. If you want to enjoy fresh seafood specialties, you can have 2 options: affordable or more advanced. Popularly, in front of Muong Thanh hotel, there is a row of shops to choose from. The popular dishes I like are: Stir-fried carp, mango squeeze squid, steamed clams from 70-120k, 1 sun squid about 270-300k/head. It is highly recommended to eat 1 sunny squid because Quang Binh 1 sunny squid is very delicious, better than many other provinces I have eaten. In Hanoi, I still crave and eat squid every day through buying at Me Phon Kitchen Page – standard and clean. If you are high-class, you should go to restaurants such as Song Than, Binh Yen, and Binh Minh. Get in a taxi and say those restaurants are the ones they take to the place. Quang Binh does not cut and slash, so our family can comfortably eat according to their needs. Eating out should try traditional cakes. Filter cake, Nam cake should be eaten because it is a typical dish. The price is very affordable. Delicious. Should eat at Me Xuan Quan on Le Thanh Dong street, Quan Tu Quy street on Co Tam street. If you want to buy it as a gift for family and friends, don’t buy hot boiled cake, it will spoil, you should buy raw cake (raw leaf cake bought at Ma Xuan shop, raw cake should buy at Ma Nhu shop – the taste of Bread Like is also different, try to tell). Pancakes or banh beo are also delicious. You can eat at Nam Ly Market, which the locals often call Cho Ga (because it’s near Dong Hoi Station), we can also eat banh chung, banh cuon or banh nam here. Phew, is it too long? So that’s pretty much enough.
