We would like to review my family’s trip to Cuc Phuong last weekend. It’s a bit long, please take the time to read it!!! My family schedule goes for 2 days (Saturday, Sunday), the original purpose was just to go to the forest to watch butterflies fly, but something unexpected happened to make the trip more perfect than planned I would like to reveal the end of the post. 💓 My family departs from Hanoi at 9 am, arrives at Hoa Lu at 10:49 and has lunch at Ba Cua restaurant. This is one of the best goat restaurants and we come here every time. Some dishes you should order such as: Burnt rice (of course 😂), Grilled Goat (very very delicious, I love this dish) and Goat with lemongrass … There is also a dish of Goat stew with wormwood, but I don’t find it special. not very impressed. After eating, my family moved to the forest. From Hoa Lu to the forest it takes nearly 1 hour. This paragraph recommends that you use GPS to locate because the whole road… concrete has no signposts at all. If you can’t find the way, people just ask the buffalo herders by the roadside for convenience. At the door of the forest, there will be a Management Board, mothers buy tickets: 60k/adult and 25k/car ticket. My family is full of small children under 6 years old without losing tickets. When buying tickets, they will guide the tour program for the whole group. If I go, then register, my family used to go to these shows so I’m not interested, after buying tickets, the heart of the forest goes straight!!!
In the forest, there are 3 main areas: COVER OF FOREST – HO MAC – XOM BONG. This time, my house is in Xom Bong. Come here again to talk about food + accommodation. In the forest, only the forest management board provides the service, so… it’s true that the government has nothing to eat, there aren’t many options available. If you set the criteria for eating at a resort, you will be a bit sad If you like the style of immersing in nature, you will love it because the air is so fresh and comfortable
🍃 The time from the Forest Edge to Xom Bong takes 1 hour , my house took 3 hours to move because… the scenery is so beautiful and there are so many butterflies. Butterflies filled the forest stretching for tens of kilometers. After walking for a while, we stopped to take pictures, like chasing flowers and catching butterflies. Children were screaming and shouting loudly!!! Arriving in Xom Bong is at 4 pm, my family rents Luong’s house. In this, there are 3 types of houses: 1 is Luong’s house with its own toilet: 450k/room. 2 is a shared toilet on stilts: including a collective stilt house (1200-1400k/room) and a single or double room on stilts at the price of 100k/person/night 3 is a brick house with shared toilets: price 300k – 450k/ In Xom Bong room, the generator will run from 7 to 9 pm, the rest will not have electricity. If there are only 1-2 people, the management will not run the generator. In terms of food, the dishes are simple, nothing special, the most delicious is grilled chicken that everyone should order. There is a BBQ in the evening if you order, you should notify them in advance so they can prepare. The day I went to the manager’s house, all of them… baked potatoes, so I had to run to the edge of the forest to buy them for 2 hours before coming back, very sad. To be careful, please bring some potatoes, corn, and cassava to bake
😉 In the evening, after eating around 7:30, go back to your room to rest. This is when the unexpected happens. When we got to our room, we saw that the forest in front was FULL of fireflies. You imagine Millions of Fireflies Sparkling in the middle of the forest as beautiful and fanciful as a dream!!! I was stunned for 5 seconds because the scene was so beautiful. Normally, when I see a few fireflies that have bent their butt to chase, now I see millions of them, reaching down to the ground is free to pick it up without going far. That’s also the reason why I highly recommend everyone to book a room in Xom Bong to experience this scene, it feels so satisfying
😊 More BBQ for dads, transparent bottles of lavie for the kids to pick up fireflies is always fun. It was night time <3 On the second day, we split up, one group went through the forest to visit the Thousand Year Tree and the other group wandered around and took pictures with butterflies. Have lunch and then return to Hanoi to rest. At the end of the trip, I still want to go back again to see the fireflies :* The review is based on my family’s experience, but in fact, Cuc Phuong has many places to visit such as Nguoi Xua Cave or Primate Zoo.
